Former WBC flyweight champion Sonny Boy Jaro scored his second straight knockout win at the expense of Jovel Romasasa. This fight was held Friday in Angono, Rizal.
Promoter Aljoe Jaro informed philboxing that Sonny Boy used a punishing body attack in the opening round and Romasasa chose not to enter the second round. This is Sonny Boy?s second straight win since being upset by Gerpaul Valero by split decision in Cebu City. Last January, Jaro stopped Marzon Cabilla also in the first round.
Promoter Jaro said that Sonny Boy will go after any of the 115 lb division champions out there.
Edgar Gabejan of the Aljoe Jaro Stable beat Weng Haya of the SGG boxing stable by tenth round knockout for the vacant Philippine super featherweight championship. It was an action packed contest but Gabejan?s experience and conditioning pulled him through, sending Haya down and referee Sammy Bernabe reached the count of ten.
Gabejan was coming off wins against Festus Omondi of Uganda and Joseph Von Minoza of Cebu. Haya is known for his tough loss against Orlando Salido in Mexico almost three years ago.
Current ABF jr flyweight champion Jomar Fajardo won against Michael Borja by 3rd round knockout. The card held at the Angono Sports Center was presented by Jaro International Promotions.
