FORMER Palarong Pambansa veteran Mac Morris “Thunder” Abila of Albay is now on the toughest fight of his career as he faces reigning WBO Oriental Youth champion Angelus “Pitbull” Pilapil of Cebu City on October 11 at the Elorde Sports Center in Sucat, Parañaque City.
“I’m in good condition,” said Abila, 23 [6-0-0, 5KOs].
Abila is training with Coach Jetro Pabustan under the watchful eyes of manager Cucuy Elorde.
“I can't say for sure if there will be a knockout, but I can say that this will be a great fight,” said Abila.
Abila added: “Pilapil is good boxer but I’m preparing also.”
Both boxers are undefeated with the 22-year-old Pilapil toting with seven wins with three knockouts.
Pilapil recently won the vacant WBO Oriental Youth flyweight crown by a unanimous decision against Dae San Yoon of South Korea last February 4 in Cebu.
The boxing event under Cucuy Elorde is UKC Pro Boxing Series XXXV: October Fist.
