WBC Youth superbantamweight champion Bernabe Concepcion of Aljoe Jaro Stable stopped Jae Won Chun of Korea in the fourth round in the mainer of last Sunday's card at the Baguio Convention Center.
According to the Inquirer, Concepcion survived some scary moments in the second round before whipping his foe with strong shots to the face, prompting the referee to call a halt to the contest.
Concepcion's victory was part of the 60-round event dubbed by organizers as "Philippines versus Korea Boxing Classic" held as part of the Baguio Flower Festival.
In the chief support, reigning OPBF light flyweight boss Juanito Rubillar prevailed on a split technical decision over local favorite Larry Mede.
Rubillar suffered a deep cut on his forehead in the sixth, but was leading on points when the bout was halted.
Draian Francisco also came out victorious over Arnel Tumbaga via second-round TKO, according to Aljoe Jaro.
Also victorious were brothers Aldrin and Alvin Tam, who defeated June De Sagun and Leo Albal, respectively.
Dumaguete's Jason Eguerra also edged out Mike Tumbaga of Baguio via unanimous decision after eight rounds, according to the Inquirer.
