Jomar Fajardo won the vacant ABF jr.flyweight title by third round knockout over Robel Villegas in the main event of a fight card held Saturday at the Manayan Basketball Arena in Mandaluyong City. Promoter Aljoe Jaro updated philboxing of the results stating that Fajardo dominated the bout from the opening round and utilized a left hook to floor Villegas.
In the co-main event, Sonny Boy Jaro returned to the win column utilizing body punches to score a first round knockout over Marzon Cabilla of the Kaaminio boxing stable of Valencia, Bukidnon. Former IBF mini flyweight champion Florante Condes returned to action with a by 1st round knockout win against Charlie Cabilla. Aljoe Jaro said that Condes trained in his gym for 1 1/2 month for this comeback fight and he hopes this win will lead to a world ranking and a shot at IBF champ Katsunari Takayama ofJapan.
Jaro also informed that around 40 boxers received 500 dollars of financial aid from Thai boxing patron Naris Singwangcha. These boxers are from the typhoon hit areas of Eastern Visayas. Singwangcha is a big fan of Manny Pacquiao and which is one of the main reasons for his support of Philippine boxing. The gesture was well applauded by the fans at ringside.
