Professional boxing action returns to the municipality of Balamban, Cebu this Wednesday September 25. Featherweights Jimmy Paypa and Jason Redondo will clash in the ten round main event. Paypa weighed in at 125.5 lbs while Redondo was at 127 lbs during the official weigh-in held Tuesday noon. This non-title contest is set at the Balamban Sports Complex.
The 20 year old Paypa (13W-2L, 4 KO?s) registered wins his last eleven bouts. The 19 year old Redondo (7W-1L-1D, 6 KO?s) has scored back to back second round knockout wins since he lost to Eman Labanza by ninth round TKO, primarily due to exhaustion, in a fight held last year in Compostela, Cebu.
Set to provide comic relief will be Jun ?Flash? Intor, who will face Nelson Sandal in a four rounder. Both weighed 126.5 lbs. Two Japanese fighters are also set to see action ? Yosuke Miyagawa, who will fight Crispin Parba in a six rounder and Takaomi Naoma, who will trade punches with Jeo Santisima for four rounds.
Miyagawa weighed in at 147 lbs while Parba stepped on the scales at 142.4. Naoma weighed 126 lbs while Santisima was at 125 lbs.
Completing the card are Kim Galon (105 lbs) vs Marlon Talili (103 lbs) - 6 rounds and Raul Yu (114.5 lbs) vs Ritchnell Rosales (116 lbs) - 4 rounds. The weigh-in was held at the GAB-Cebu office and supervised by Celso Miranda, Rolando Mendoza and Glen Agena. This card is presented by ALA Promotions.
This will be the second boxing promotion held in Balamban this month. Last September 7, the western Cebu municipality hosted a WBO regional title contest.
