Randy Petalcorin moves to WBA No. 2; wants a shot at title

Randy Petalcorin celebrated his 21st birthday this year and moving to number #2 WBA Light Flyweight World ranking was the best birthday present Petalcorin could receive,

Petalcorin is set to have a fight next month in Davao on a co- promotion of Peter Maniatis and Jim Mananquil Sandman Promotions and if he is successful, he wants a shot at interim WBA World champion Alberto Rossel of Peru sometime this year.

Alberto Rossell is turning 35 years old in a few weeks and has 8 losses on his record. He would be an ideal test and opponent for Petalcorin to fight for a WBA Light Flyweight interim World Title.

SEN Radio have spoken to Jorge Bartra the manager-promoter of Rossel who threw a Spanish interpreter as he could not speak English on the phone and he said Rossel won't fight outside of Peru so Petalcorin will have to travel to Peru for the interim WBA World title fight.

Petalcorin resides in General City Santos and lives at the Sandman gym and adopts a spartan lifestyle to prepare for his bouts.

Petalcorin is co-manage by Peter Maniatis and Jim Mananquil. Maniatis and Mananquil also co-manage Harmonito Dela Torre, an 18 year old undefeated lightweight prospect who has a record of 8-0 5 KOs.
