The International Boxing Organization (IBO) has named the ring officials for the upcoming IBO minimumweight title bout between challenger Florante Condes of the Philippines and champion Hekkie Budler of South Africa. The three judges responsible for scoring the twelve round bout will be Terrance Makaluza of South Africa, Lisa Giampa of the United States and Atty. Danrex Joseph Tapdasan of the Philippines.
Atty. Tapdasan is also an international referee and visited the African continent thrice as a referee in Accra, Ghana.
The referee will be Andile Matika of South Africa and Len Hunt will be the fight commissioner/IBO supervisor. The fight is scheduled on September 22 at the Emperor's Palace, Kempton Park in South Africa.
Condes is a former IBF minimumweight world champion beating Muhamad Rachman of Indonesia by split decision in Jakarta. He lost in his first defense by split decision to Raul Garcia of Mexico. Three years ago Condes lost in South Africa to Nkosinathi Joyi by unanimous decision in an IBF eliminator.
Budler is a former IBO lt. flyweight champion. He won his present belt by beating Michael Landero of the Philippines by unanimous decision in South Africa. Budler has also beaten Filipino Juanito Rubillar twice on points.
