ALA Promotions informed Philboxing that world rated Milan Melindo will defend his International Flyweight Title against former WBA interim world champion Jean Piero P?rez of Venezuela. The fight contract has already been signed between Michael Aldeguer, president and CEO of ALA Promotions, and Team P?rez. The title clash will take place on September 22 at the Waterfront Hotel & Casino in Cebu, Philippines.

Jean Piero P?rez (19-4-1, 14KO's), who captured the WBA interim flyweight title from Mexican Jes?s "The Destroyer" Jim?nez in Guadalajara, M?xico, comes from a knocking out Colombia's Michael Arango in round eight last April at the Roberto Dur?n Arena in Panama City, Panama.

The Venezuelan reigned has WBA interim world champ before losing his prestigious golden/black crown to Juan Carlos Reveco last year in Mendoza, Argentina.

Meanwhile, the popular 24 year-old Milan "El Met?dico" Melindo (27-0, 11KO's), highly ranked in all four major world boxing organizations, sees action again after a fast and furious round 1 victory over former interim champion Jes?s Geles of Colombia last June at the Resorts World Hotel in Manila.

Melindo, who has knocked out his last four opponents, has been showing a noticeable increase in punching power in both fists.

In the first half of his young career Melindo boxed mainly as a stylist scoring win-after-win by points overwhelming opponents with accurate punching and speed.

These days "El Metodico" continues to display his trademark effective jab, fast combinations and fine strategy, but has as well developed a new hunger for knockout wins, a fighting approach which has increased his popularity among boxing fans.
