This year's Elorde Awardee as Best Manager, Rex "Wakee" Salud of Cebu, will depart for South Africa tomorrow to be at ringside when three Filipino boys vie for the WBC International titles on March 31 at the Wembley Arena.
The well-traveled Salud manages two of the boxers--Benedict Suico and Gabriel Pumar--while the third boxer, Mercito Gesta, is being managed by Joy Ouano of Stonewall Boxing Gym.

In April, Salud will again travel to Japan on the 17th to be at ringside when his ward, OPBF welter boss Rev Santillan, defends his title in Tokyo on April 20. He comes back on April 21 in the Philippines, to be at ringside again when his other ward, PABA super-featherweight king Jun Paderna, defends his title on the last day of the GAB Convention.
Then on May 13, Salud gets his hands full when he promotes the OPBF lightweight title between Randy Suico and a Thai foe. This is prior to his trip back to Japan to accompany Jimrex Jaca as he vies for the OPBF title on May 20 in Tokyo.
While doing all these international trips, Salud will also be on the thick of things as he co-promotes the Manny Pacquiao-Oscar Larios showdown on July 2.
Such is the schedule of the country's Best Manager in boxing.
