Tall superbantamweight Filipino prospect Alfred Deano, a many-time Philippine national amateur champion, will see action in his pro debut on June 11 against Cuban Yuniel Ramos in a fight card set at the Cayman Islands by Knockout Promotions, LLC of Charles Whittaker.
The 19-year-old Deano, who has been working out with trainer Norman Wilson in the Cayman Islands since March and has a management contract with Jenrose Wilson, has indicated he is excited for his professional debut with his team fully supporting him.
"Alfred Deano has tested his skills in boxing by fighting against experienced Jamaican opponent Kestna Davis on April 9th, 2011 in The Cayman Islands. He has impressed Filipino fans in the Caribbean as well as Camanians when he demolished his opponent easily by 1st round knockout," reported trainer Norman Wilson to the media.
Reports coming out of the Cayman Islands indicate that Deano has been getting positive feedback from fans, who are seeing the potential of this young fighter who many label as a possible star in the future for the Philippines.
