MUNICIPALITY OF SAN REMEGIO, CEBU TO HOST PHILIPPINE JR. FLYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

The Municipality of San Remegio, Cebu for the first time will be hosting a championship boxing event. On May 15, 2011, the Philippine Junior Flyweight Championship will be up for grabs as boxing hopefuls Gerson Mancio of Agusan del Sur will be battling Jason Canoy of the Omega Boxing Stable for the vacant Philippine title.

Mancio (W12 (KO 5) L 1 D 3) is on a two fight knock-out streak as he beat Marvin Fernandez in 7 in Cagayan de Oro City last December 18, 2010 and Rocky Sardido in two rounds last March 26, 2011 in Boracay's history making first ever professional boxing event by the beach.

The Agusan del Sur native Mancio will have his hands full as he will be up against an undefeated fighter in Jason Canoy W 9 (KO 6) L 0 D 1. Canoy has been on a rampage of his own carving out three decision wins and stopping two via short route in his last five outings.

Also to be featured is prospect Welbeth Loberanis of Mandaue City in an 8 round tussle with Don King Tampus of Tony Dacer Stable of Davao City in a Flyweight bout.

Crowd favorite and probably the Philippines most entertaining fighter to date Jun "Flash" Intor will likewise strut his stuff and bring his ring antics against Cris Leon of Bukidnon City in a 6 round rumble guaranteed to bring the crowd to their feet.

A total of eight (8) bouts will be featured in San Remegio, Cebu's fight card brought to you by the Municipality of San Remegio headed by the Honorable Mayor Jay Olivar and supported by ALA Promotions.
