Gorres, Amonsot arriving tomorrow!

Z "The Dream" Gorres and Czar Amonsot, both fresh from their decision wins in Las Vegas over Mexican opponents, are set to plane in tomorrow from the Los Angeles International Airport.

"Gorres and Amonsot are arriving tomorrow at the Mactan-Cebu International Airport 8:30AM. Presscon will follow," announced well-loved Cebu sportsman Tony Aldeguer, who manages the two top Filipino prospects.

Aldeguer, who also manages Rey "Boom Boom" Bautista, is the man behind the famed ALA Gym of Cebu, where Manny Pacquiao works out every time he drops by Cebu City to visit his close buddy Rex "Wakee" Salud.

Meanwhile Gorres, who hails from Mandaue City, is scheduled to be given honor by the City Council for his scintillating victory over Jose Alfredo Tirado.

Also to be honored by Mandaue City are WBC no. 1 Rodel Mayol and OPBF champs Randy Suico and Malcolm Tunacao. Mayol had knocked out Lorenzo Trejo in the fourth round last January 28 in Cancun, Mexico while both Suico and Tunacao had retained their OPBF titles last February 5.

With this line-up of marquee fighters all coming from Mandaue City, no wonder the city is dubbed the Mecca of Philippine Boxing, while Cebu Province is the Hotbed of RP Boxing.
