ALA-SUMMIT BOXING: BACON GUNS FOR PHILIPPINE TITLE

The Philippines number 1 Super Featherweight contender James Bacon of Cebu City will be trying to win his first career title in the main event of the ALA-Summit Fight Night Boxing Tour on October 23, 2010 at the Robinson?s Place Parking Lot in Iloilo City, Philippines.

Bacon who sports a record of 13 wins (KO 9) and 1 defeat will have a busy night with number 2 ranked Ronald Pontillas of Metro Manila contesting for the vacant Philippine Championship title.

James Bacon is fresh from a 6th round KO victory over Eric Macas of Lanao del Norte in the under card of the record crowd boxing spectacle SANDUGO- Labanan ng mga Kampeon in Tagbilaran, Bohol last July 17, 2010.

Pontillas (W 10 (KO 5) L 3 (1) D 3) on his part has won 3 of his last four bouts by knock-out?s. He is managed by Rommel Nazario, the son of former Pacquiao manager the late Rod Nazario.

This is expected to be a slam bang encounter between two hungry gladiators as this will be the first time for both fighters to challenge for a title.

Fighting in the undercard will be Kaibo, Aklan native Marjhun Makahilig against Rocky Sardido of Davao, Bantayn Island boy Albert Villacampa vs Kotsky Ebalang of Cagayan de Oro City, Jesson Enzo of Mandaue City vs Don Carcasona, Jefferson Reodeque from Tagbilaran, Bohol against Nobette Lencioco of Iloilo and opening the fist fest will be Bacolod fighter Tongke Balilitan vs Jomar Cordinillo of Tagbilara City, Bohol.
