WBO bantamweight king Gerry Penalosa, who arrived in Cebu today, is slated to hold a public workout tomorrow starting 1PM inside the New Cebu Coliseum, said co-promoters Sammy Gello-ani and vice-governor Manny Pinol.
Penalosa's Mexican foe, German Meraz, will also take part in the public workout as well as the Braveheart fighters seeing action in the card namely Jundy Maraon, Rolando Magbanua, Glenn Porras and Glenn Gonzalez among others.
Penalosa and Meraz duke it out on Saturday in the main event of the "Battle of the Best Bantamweights" card at the New Cebu Coliseum.
Giant television network ABS-CBN will air the fights.
IPI chief trainer Pingping Tepura has been asked by promoter Gello-ani to hire sparmates for Penalosa and Meraz for tomorrow's sparring sessions in front of the media.
Tepura said Penalosa might spar with WBO Asia Pacific bantam champ Jason Egera.
Meraz will trade leathers possibly with Federico Catubay.
Meanwhile, vice-governor Pinol has informed that the final press conference for the Penalosa-Meraz showdown will take place on Wednesday, 11AM, at the Cebu Grand Hotel in Cebu.
Venue for the official weigh-in will be announced soon.
