Two-time world title challenger and former OPBF champ Rodel Mayol will now aim for the Philippine light-flyweight title on August 16 against unknown but skilled warrior Aldin Diale in Puerto Galera, Mindoro Oriental.
The fight will be telecast by Saved by the Bell, a television program operated by young promoter and its CEO Elmer Anuran.
Mayol, now managed by superstar Manny Pacquiao, is currently training at the RWS Gym of Rex 'Wakee' Salud.
Once considered as the country's best world title prospect, Mayol has now lost three of his last five fights, and looked less-than-stellar in his fifth-round stoppage win over Wisan Sor Suchanya in May.
Dubbed "Shadow of Salvation," the August 16 event will also showcase Jonel Alibio against Richard Agagad.
Both Diale and Alibio hail from Mindoro and are expected enjoy hometown advantage.
Six more professional bouts are lined up for the show, said Anuran, who also manages newly-crowned WBO Asia-Pacific bantam champion Jason Egera of Siaton, Negros Oriental.
