WBC's special "Tollan Topiltzin" belt for Garcia vs. Benn is ready

The World Boxing Council (WBC) is proud to present the spectacular Tollan Topiltzin Belt, a one-of-a-kind creation that will be awarded to the winner of the highly anticipated showdown between Ryan Garcia and Conor Benn this Saturday, September 12, in Las Vegas.

As part of its longstanding tradition of creating special belts for the most important and significant fights on the boxing calendar, the WBC presents a piece that pays tribute to the rich historical, cultural and artistic heritage of Mexico—particularly the extraordinary legacy of the Toltec civilization.

“The Tollan Topiltzin Belt represents a very special connection between the cultural and historical richness of Mexico and the universal values we celebrate through boxing,” said Mauricio Sulaimán, President of the World Boxing Council.

The name Tollan Topiltzin is deeply rooted in Toltec heritage. “Tollan” was the original name of the ancient Toltec capital and, over time, became synonymous with greatness, knowledge and artistic excellence.

Meanwhile, “Topiltzin,” meaning “Our Noble Lord,” forms part of the name Ce Ácatl Topiltzin Quetzalcóatl, the legendary ruler associated with the golden age of Tula.

The belt’s design incorporates several elements representative of Mexican culture and a rich artisanal tradition aimed at turning each piece into a true work of art. The main plate and several decorative details feature natural obsidian, a material of enormous historical and cultural significance in Mexico.

The belt is also crafted from genuine leather, following the tradition of WBC championship belts, while its gold-plated metal reliefs provide elegance, durability and an extraordinary presence to this remarkable creation.

“Its name evokes greatness, knowledge and excellence—qualities that inspired this extraordinary piece. For the WBC, it is a source of great pride to present a belt that honors our roots and that will be won by the victor of a fight as important as Ryan Garcia versus Conor Benn,” said Sulaimán.

The Tollan Topiltzin Special Belt joins the prestigious collection of special WBC creations—pieces that transcend the sport itself to tell stories, celebrate cultures and pay tribute to traditions that are part of the identity of peoples around the world.

This Saturday, when Garcia and Benn step into the ring for one of the year’s most anticipated matchups, more than victory and sporting glory will be at stake: the opportunity to capture a truly unique and extraordinary piece.
