MANILA---Filipino American engineer and golfer Donato "Gerry" Gamaro throws his support to the Invitational Chess Tournament which is going to be held this coming weekend at the Olongapo Rizal Triangle Park in Olongapo City.

The Queens, New York based Gamaro made noise in US chess circuit after winning the Under 1600 division of the 14th annual Foxwoods Open International Chess Championship at Foxwoods Resort Casino & Hotel in Connecticut, USA last April 17, 2022.

Gamaro will support the event of Mr. John Salcedo of Olongapo City Triangle Chess Club which will feature two divisions.

The top five winners in the Class A and B division will bring home 1,500php, 1,000php, 500php, 300php and 200php while 200php each awaits the category winners such as Top Senior, Top High School, Top Elementary, Top Lady and Top College.

The top five winners in the Class C and D category, consequently shall receive 1,500php, 1,000php, 500php, 300php and P200php.

Registration fee for the said event is 100php. -Marlon Bernardino-
