1st Jacinto Y Bustamante Open Chess tournament set Nov.27

MANILA---It’s the turn of the pawnpushers campaigner to take center stage on November 27, Sunday, with the staging of the 1st Jacinto Y Bustamante Open Chess Tournament at the SM Mega Center in Cabanatuan City.

The Registration time starts at 10 am with a time control of 10 minutes + 3 seconds delay.

More than 100 contestants are expected to show their wares in the one-day rapid event backed up by Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology -NEUST Professor Jacinto Y Bustamante, organized by Mr. Benjamin Bauto of Cabanatuan City Chess Club, which offers a total pot prize of P14,500 to the winners with the champion receiving P5,000 plus trophy, second place P3,000 plus medal, third place P2,000 plus medal, fourth place P1,000 plus medal, fifth place P500 plus medal and sixth to tenth place P300 plus medals.

Top 2 players in the 12 years old and below will bring home P300 each plus medals that includes Top Female, Top Senior, Top College and Top High School.

Expected to provide stiff competition are Sadey siblings, Rinoa Mariel and Chessica Fiona, Leonardo Navarro and Regyne Palaming.

Tournament registration pegged at P300 while P200 for the kiddies chess player.
