CEBU--IBF minimumweight champion Florante Condes arrived here last night raring to train at the ALA Gym for his upcoming title defense against Raul Garcia on June 14 in Mexico.
Today, the dynamite-fisted warrior dubbed as "Little Pacquiao" for his power and fighting style, will start sparring against ex-RP flyweight champ Federico Catubay. Veteran Bert Batawang is also being lined up to spar with Condes.
The young world champion has been green-lighted to train at the ALA Gym through the help of veteran journalist Ronnie Nathanielsz. ALA Gym owner and Cebu's beloved sportsman Antonio L. Aldeguer indicated that Condes is more than welcome to train at the ALA Gym, just like IBF flyweight king Nonito Donaire Jr who came before him.
Well-liked Sammy "Don King" Gello-ani, who along with international matchmaker non-pareil Sampson Lewkowicz dubbed as the "Picasso of Boxing," has been guiding the career of Condes, said that the power-punching fighter will train at the ALA Gym until around late part of May.
