2ND LOMA-LOPEZ UNDERCARD FIGHT: RANDALL DEFEATS RIVERA

In a battle of two undefeated fighters going in, Quinton Randall of Houston, Texas, defeated Jan Carlos Rivera of Pennsylvania via Puerto Rico, by unanimous decision in their 6-round welterweight battle on the undercard of the Loma-Lopez lightweight undisputed championship at The Bubble at MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas Saturday night (Sunday in Manila).

Randall's sharp counterpunching got the better of Rivera's aggressive and going forward style. Randall, who spent three years in jail in Houston as a teenager, timed Rivera coming in with telling head and body shots.

Judges scores: Adelaide Byrd 59-55, Max de Luca and Patricia Morse Jarman, 58-56 all in favor of Randall.

Randall, 30, now upped his record to seven wins with two stoppages while Rivera dropped to four wins with one defeat and four stoppage wins.

Randall (L) parries Rivera's attack.
