PETALCORIN MEDIA WORKOUT IN TOKYO

Former WBA Interim world champion Randy Petalcorin has settled in Tokyo after his arrival Tuesday ahead of his world title fight against defending WBC light flyweight champion Ken Shiro of Japan on Monday Dec. 23 at the Yokohama Arena in Yokohama, Japan less than an hour drive south of Tokyo.

"Petalcorin has a media workout today and he looked very sharp," Petalcorin's manager Peter Maniatis has informed Philboxing.

Petalcorin's co-manager Jim Manangquil said "Randy's weight is right on target. He weighs 110 pounds during the gym workout today, only two pounds above the 108 limit."

Petalcorin will have a tall order facing the Japanese champion who is undefeated in 16 fights and who had defeated Filipino stalwarts Milan Melindo and Jonathan Taconing in his recent fights.

Petalcorin (31-3-1, 23KOs) however was highly motivated with the challenge saying, "I always wanted to face the best fighters in the world and to win the WBC belt and now my dream has come true."
