Cebu City, Philippines – LaMarcus Aldridge had 39 points on a 19-for-23 field goal shooting, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block to power the Spurs over the Oklahoma City Thunder 121-112 at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas on Thursday night (Friday morning, Philippine time).
Dejounte Murray had a lot to do with Aldridge’s prolific scoring. Aldridge was mostly the beneficiary of the Murrays’s career high 10 dimes. The 23-year-old guard also added 17 markers and 8 boards in just 26 minutes of restricted playing time, after missing the whole of last season due to an ACL tear on his right knee.
As a team, San Antonio had a season-high 32 assists, to snap a two-game skid.
Danilo Gallinari topscored with 27 across his name for the Thunder, who remained winless on the road and dropped to 3 wins and 5 losses. They will travel home to next face the Golden State Warriors on Saturday night (Sunday morning, Philippine time).
Meanwhile, the Spurs improved to a 5-3 win-loss card and will next host the Boston Celtics on the same date.
