Former world title challenger Mercito Gesta of the Philippines knocks out Martin Honorio of Mexico in the 8th round of their 10 round scheduled lightweight bout Saturday night at The Forum in Inglewood, California on the undercard of Miguel Berchelt vs Takashi Miura WBC world super featherweight championship promoted by Golden Boy Promotions.
Gesta, a Cebu-native who now resides in San Diego, California and who is now trained by Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach, improved his record to 31 wins, one loss and two draws while the journeyman Honorio absorbed his fifth defeat in his last six fights and dropped to 33-11-1 win-loss-draw record.
