CHICAGO -- Life without Kevin Durant didn't go so well with the Golden State Warriors on Thursday night as the powerhouse Western Conference team shot just 38.6 percent from the filed and bowed to the Chicago Bulls, 94-87 at the United Center.
Steph Curry and Klay Thompson combined for 36 points but they shot just 15 of 49 from the field, including 3 for 22 from 3-point distance.
Clearly, the Warriors miss Durant who will miss at least four weeks of action after suffering a Grade 2 left knee sprain and a left leg bone bruise during the Warriors' 112-108 loss to the Washington Wizards on Tuesday night.
With the Splash Brothers ineffective, none from the Warriors' super team stepped up to the plate as Draymond Green only had 12 points while Andre Iguodola managed just 10 off the bench,
It was the Warriors' first back-to-back defeat since 2015, breaking a streak of 145 regular season games. They still lead the league, however, in the overall standings with a 50-11 slate but the San Antonio Spurs are knocking at the door at 46-13, just three games behind.
Chicago, meanwhile, moved up to sixth place in the Eastern Conference race with a 31-30 record.
Despite shooting just 6-of-14 from the fielld, Jimmy Butler led the Bulls with 22 points with 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Bobby Portis was huge, though, scoring 17 while grabbing 13 boards. Dwyane Wade added 12 while Robin Lopez chipped in 10.
