In its opening salvo of the year, Omega Pro Sports International (OPSI) stages 'Rumble sa Talamban' on February 18 at the Talamban Sports Complex north of Cebu City featuring Omega Gym's Jhaleel Payao vs Jason Tinampay for the Philippine Boxing Federation bantamweight championship on the main event.

Payao (14-1, 11KOs) once held the WBC Youth super flyweight crown and the PBF super flyweight belt but he will be tested by Tinampay's power who defeated 7 of 8 victims inside the distance. Tinampay tots a 8-3-1 win-loss-draw record.

In the supporting main event, Omega Gym's Jimboy Haya (9-3-2, 7KOs) will take on undefeated upstart Ken Jordan who knocked out all his 4 opponents so far.

Other interesting matchups on the card are the pairing between Japanese Octata Masayuki who will take on Johnrey Espinosa of Compostela, Cebu and Taiwanese Ming Hong Lee who exchange leathers with Wilfredo Rota, also of Compostela, Cebu.

In a statement, OPSI president Pio Paulo Castillo said, ?This is just a start for OPSI. We?ll follow this up with Who?s Next? 4 on March 18 at the Waterfront. Kenny Demecillo fights for the WBO Oriental bantamweight title in Hong Kong on March 11, while Jason Canoy fights for the WBF world bantamweight championship in South Africa on March 31.?

'Rumble sa Talamban' was being organized by OPSI in partnership with Barangay Talamban through its Barangay Captain Dario Arcilla.
