The WBO has released the names of officials it assigned to the Mark Magsayo-Chris Avalos WBO International super featherweight championship which will be on the undercard of the WBO super bantamweight title fight between defending champion Nonito Donaire Jr and challenger Zsolt Bedak of Hungary on April 23 at the Cebu City Sports Center.
The third man in the ring is veteran Filipino referee Danrex Tapdasan while the judges are Katsihiko Nakamura of Japan, Salven Lagumbay of the Philippines and Greg Ortega, also of the Philippines. Supervisor of the fight is WBO Vice-President Leon Panoncillo Jr.
Magsayo (13-0, 10KO), 20, from Bohol, will have the toughest test of his young career when he takes on Chris Avalos (26-4-0, 19KO) of Lancaster, CA who fought and lost to Irishman Carl Frampton for the IBF super bantamweight title on Feb. 28, 2015.
