Marcial.

Top seeded welterweight Eumir Felix Marcial is determined to go for a lot in the Rio Olympics when he battles 22 year old Shakram Giyasov of Uzbekistan in a box-off for a bronze medal at 6:00 p.m. today while Mario Fernandez is also hoping to qualify by beating Kairat Yeraliev of Kazakhstan.

Rogen Ladon who already booked a berth in the Rio Olympics with a masterful victory over India?s shifty Devendro Singh Laisham in the semi finals is dead set on going for gold in a tough clash with Uzbekistan?s Hasanboy Dusmatov who had denied Ladon a finals berth in the 2015 Asian Confederation Boxing Championships by decision.

Team captain Charly Suarez also goes for gold in a 6:00 p.m. bout on Saturday. He told ABS-CBN reporter Dyan Castillejo he?s been training, crying and praying for this for so long and is aiming to win a gold medal in Rio.

Despite his swollen and aching hand, Marcial told executive director Ed Picson he is determined to fight and win and qualify for the Olympics when he clashes with the tough Uzbek fighter at 6:00 p.m. today.

Trainer Nonito ?Boy? Velasco said the US training was tough and that the boys went all-out in 10 days of sparring.

With two more qualifying tournaments in Kazakhstan in May and Azerbaijan in June, ABAP is hoping to qualify six boxers for Rio.
