MIAMI- Lamarcus Aldridge scored 28 points and Kwahi Leonard added 23 points as the San Antonio Spurs defeated the Miami Heat 119-101.
The All-Star bound duo anchored a game defining Spurs fourth quarter run as they built on what was still a precarious 7-point lead against the home team with 9:51 left in the game to a 19 point rout in a span of 3 game minutes.
The team then never looked back and even extended the lead to a game high 24 points towards the end.
"You saw what we felt," Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra said after the game . "The Spurs were terrific in that second half. Right now, that's a different level of basketball from where we are, right now, today. But that doesn't mean it can't change when we get back from the break."
Heat star Dwyane Wade concurred with Coach Spo , "We're not in that upper echelon yet in the league. We've made strides. We've got to continue to make strides."
The Heat were led by Wade with 20 points while Bosh chipped in 18 and 5 boards.
Hassan Whiteside tallied 14 points and 6 rebounds before getting ejected with 9:35 left in the fourth after throwing what appeared to be wayward elbow into Spurs rookie Boban Marjanovic's head.
"We've been through this with him before," Spoelstra said of Whiteside. "It's a disappointing play. That's not a basketball play."
The Spurs have now won their fifth straight game, their sixth consecutive over Miami since claiming that 2014 NBA Championship. San Antonio is bracing themselves for their annual Rodeo trip.
