NBA -- Heat scorch Raptors, 96-76

MIAMI- Chris Bosh scored 23 points while Hassan Whiteside added 20 points and blocked 6 shots as the Miami Heat notched a 96-76 victory over the Toronto Raptors at the American Airlines Arena Sunday.

Miami's bench outscored the Raptors reserves 33-14. Tyler Johnson led the subs with 10 points while Mario Chalmers and rookie Justise Winslow chipped in 9 points a piece.

Heat coach Erik Spoelstra, spoke after the game, "The second unit really sparked the energy of the entire team and everyone on our team fed off that energy. That was really inspiring basketball in the second half,"

Toronto were ahead 47-44 at the half before being outscored the rest of the way 52-29.

Raptors head coach Dwane Casey obviously wasn't happy with their seconds of struggle, "They ( Miami Heat) got into into us defensively and made it tough for us. We weren't as aggressive with the ball as we were in the first half. That was the difference. Their aggression in the third quarter change the game."

Jonas Valanciunas scored 17 points for Toronto while All-Star DeMar DeRozan added 16 points but on 5 for 14 shooting. The Raptors were without its defensive ace DeMarre Carroll and have now lost two straight games after starting the year 4-0.

The Raptors will travel back home and will look to regroup and host the New York Knicks while Miami will face Kobe Bryant and visiting the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday.
