ORLANDO, FL -- Thailand's top boxing promoter Parikyakorn Ratanasuban of Onesongchai Promotions was awarded the Asia-Pacific promoter of the year while its WBO bantamweight champion Pungluang Sor Singyu bagged the Asia-Pacific fighter of the year during the ongoing 28th WBO convention at the Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista Hotel here Thursday.
Sor Singyu re-captured the WBO bantamweight title last August 7 by knocking out Ryo Akaho of Japan in the second round. He previously held the title in 2010 when he stopped AJ Banal of the Philippines but he lost it to Paulus Ambunda in his first defense.
