NIETES SENDS ALEJO TO SCHOOL; WINS BY WIDE DECISION

CARSON, CA ? WBO and Ring junior flyweight champion Donnie 'Ahas' Nietes taught Mexican challenger Juan 'Pinky' Alejo a neat boxing lesson dominating the Mexican over 12 rounds in process disfiguring Alejo's face to retain his title moments ago to the delight of a sizeable pro-Filipino crowd at the StubHub center here Saturday night in the 33rd edition of the highly successful Pinoy Pride series and its maiden show in the United States.

One judge gave all the rounds to Nietes while the remaining two judges gave Alejo one round each for scores of 120-108, 119-111 and 119-111.
