Raul Caiz Jr, son of the eminent Raul Caiz Sr has been named referee for the eighth title defense of WBO light flyweight champion Donnie "Ahas" Nietes who faces Mexican champion Juan "Pinky" Alejo at the StubHub Center in Carson City, California on Sunday, Manila Time, in the inaugural venture of ALA Promotions in the United States.
The judges are veteran Pat Russell, Lou Moret and Marshall Walker III with Richard de Cuir as the WBO official supervisor.
Caiz Jr has been very active as a referee this year, officiating in 33 fights including the successful WBA Interim light lyweight defense of Filipino Randy Petalcorin against China's Yi Ming Ma in Beijing, the Andre Berto vs Josesito Lopez WBO welterweight interim title fight on March 13 and the Sugar Shane Mosley clash with Ricardo Mayorga last August 29.
