ALL SET FOR PUNTA PRINCESA BOXING AUG 23

CEBU - Joey Canoy Singwangcha?s plan to even the score against Jerry Tomogdan will have to wait. RWS Promotions received word that Tomogdan suffered from dengue fever and was not given a medical clearance to fight.

Veteran Rodel Tejares (20W-34L-6D,5KO?s) will take the place of Tomogdan.

Canoy ((9W-1L-1D, 3 KO?s), lost to Tomogdan by majority decision last January in Cagayan de Oro. This was Canoy?s first career loss.

Tejares has lost to world ranked boxers like Rommel Asenjo, Jether Oliva, Marlon Tapales and Richard Claveras. He also suffered defeats to former world champs Merlito Sabillo and Thai Pongsaklek Wonjongkam.

During the official weigh-in held Saturday, Canoy was at 103lbs while Tejares weighed 104.5lbs. They will battle on Sunday August 23 at the Punta Princesa Atillo Gym here in Cebu City with the Asian Boxing Federation belt at stake.

Also set to see action are undefeated prospect Ardie Boyose Singwangcha (15-0-2,11KO?s) who will go up against Phil Angcamor (13-23-3,7KO?s) in a ten rounder. Boyose stepped on the scales at 134 lbs, Angcamor at 133.

Joaquino E. Singwangcha vs Marlou Talili ? 8 rounds,both 108 lbs, Dignos M Singwangcha (113lbs0 vs Ponciano Rimandiman (112lbs) ? 8 rounds, Junriel Jimenes (108) vs Roga Libres (106) ? 6 rounds. There are three more undercard matches.

This boxing promotion is presented by Naris Singwangcha of Thailand and Rex "Wakee" Salud Sports Pomotions in cooperation with Brgy Captain Jose F. Navarro. Fights start at 7PM.
