'MAYHEM' TURNS INTO A BORING FIGHT; IS PACQUIAO NEXT? By Ed de la Vega, DDS PhilBoxing.com Sun, 14 Sep 2014 Las Vegas, NV:- Floyd Mayweather?s handlers and promoters dubbed the fight as ?Mayhem?. The last time I checked that word meant ?violent or damaging disorder; chaos.? Truth be told -- it was far from being one! In fact, Mayweather graded himself something like C- and stated that he should not been hit with the shots that Maidana hit him with -- particularly that parting shot at the end of round three. So, there you are, the old fox himself admitted that he is not the same anymore. Father time is catching up and if he fights the way he fought in round three against Manny Pacquiao, he will surely lose his beloved ?O?, the same ?O? that he and his handlers has protected for so long by cherry picking his opponents. Mayweather is lucky because Maidana is one dimensional. He is a slugger and that?s all he is in spite of what Robert Garcia has done for him. He was a perfect stooge for Mayweather. If he were not, he would not have a chance in hell to get a re-match. In short, he was cherry picked again sadly, for the second time. ?If the Pacquiao fight happens, let?s make it happen,? Mayweather said to that effect. But frankly, in my opinion, he does not deserve the fight! I know people will chastise me for saying that particularly the purist and the fans that had been waiting for the ?big fight? to happen -- the fight that many has called the potential ?fight of the century?. Pacquiao fights real fighters. Guys that epitomize what boxing is all about -- a brutal combat sports. Boxing does not deserve ?Wily E. Cayote's? in the ring. Furthermore, fans deserve a good show from boxers for their hard earned money. Certainly, not runners and dancers. After the fight I went to the casino bar to unwind. I spoke to some guys who saw the fight. ?It?s not worth the money I paid for,? said one in reference to the fight. ?He could have knocked Maidana out in the last rounds, but he chose to run to protect his pretty face. Well, if he did not like his face hit, then he should quit and be a dancer instead,? he added. That was a statement from a guy who had four beers already but nonetheless, it represented the sentiments of folks who paid money to see a fight and not a dance.
