NBA -- Bulls' stampede crush Warriors, 103-83
By Homer D. Sayson PhilBoxing.com Fri, 28 Feb 2014
CHICAGO -- The Chicago Bulls won seven out of their last eight games Wednesday night after easily beating the Golden State Warriors, 103 to 83, at the United Center.
The Bulls clicked on both ends of the floor and held the Warriors to 35.7 percent shooting from the field. First time All-Star guard Stephen Curry was held to 5 points on 2 of 10 shooting. He only logged 28 minutes and didn?t play in the final quarter.
The Warriors only led in the first quarter. Once the Bulls took the lead, they never looked back as they pushed the lead to as many as 28 points.
Chicago forced 16 turnovers as Golden State looked out of sync all night long. The Bulls front court dominated inside the paint which created a myriad of easy scoring opportunities. Taj Gibson was the leading scorer with 21 points off the bench while 2-time All-Star Joakim Noah stuffed the stat sheet with 17 rebounds, seven 7 assists, and eight points. Carlos Boozer chipped in 15 points.
Second year guard Jimmy Butler returned to action from a rib injury and played as if nothing was wrong. He led the team in minutes played with 36. Butler and backcourt mate Kirk Hinrich did a great job on defense and prevented the ?Splash Brothers? from getting any type of rhythm on the floor.
Steph Curry said of Hinrich?s defense: "he always seems to keep a hand on you and never really gives a beat when his help isn?t there. He?s very consistent at funneling you where they want you to go.?
Both Curry and David Lee admitted to the team being a step slow, but acknowledged they would bounce back in their next game. The Warriors will take on the New York Knicks next while the Bulls will look to keep up their winning ways against the Dallas Mavericks Friday night.
