Kaipo Gallegos Shines in Las Vegas Victory Over Leonardo Padilla

PhilBoxing.com

LAS VEGAS, NV (February 4, 2025) – The young talented featherweight star on the rise, Kaipo Gallegos (8-0-1, 6 KOs), continued his undefeated streak with a dominant performance against veteran Leonardo Padilla (24-7-1, 17 KOs) this past Saturday, February 1, 2025, at the T-Mobile Arena. The scheduled six-round bout took place on the undercard of the David Benavidez vs. David Morrell super fight, with Gallegos showcasing his skill and power in front of his hometown crowd.

Facing an opponent with triple his experience, Gallegos controlled the fight from the inside, landing sharp combinations and dictating the pace from start to finish. Scorecards read 60-54 twice and 59-55, all in favor of Gallegos.

“Fighting in my hometown and delivering this kind of performance against a very tough opponent has my confidence at an all-time high,” said Gallegos. “Padilla is a tough fighter, but I knew I had the skills and strength to dominate him on the inside. I stuck to my game plan, broke him down, and showed why I belong at this level.”

Co-promoted by Boxlab Promotions and Shuan Boxing, Gallegos has quickly become one of the most exciting young prospects in the sport. With this victory, he remains focused on staying active and continuing his rise through the super featherweight ranks.

“I want to stay as busy as possible this year,” Gallegos continued. “Every fight is an opportunity to learn and improve, and I’m ready for whatever comes next. I want to keep testing myself against the best and keep pushing forward.”

Gallegos also took a moment to express gratitude to those who have supported his journey. “I’m incredibly thankful to my promoters, Boxlab Promotions and Shuan Boxing, as well as PBC, and my entire team for believing in me and giving me this opportunity. The work behind the scenes is just as important as what happens in the ring, and I couldn’t do this without them.”

Amaury Piedra, President of Boxlab Promotions, praised Gallegos’ performance and potential. “Kaipo continues to prove why he is the best young prospect under 21 years old. To take on a fighter as experienced as Padilla at just 18 years old, and dominate the way he did, speaks volumes about his talent and work ethic. He’s on a special path, and we couldn’t be more excited about what the future holds for him.”

With another impressive victory under his belt, Kaipo Gallegos solidifies his place as a rising force in the super featherweight division. Fans can expect to see him back in action soon, as he continues his journey toward the top.
