Macao, China - Hometown fighters from mainland China and Hong Kong won their fights decisively against their respective counterparts here in the early stages of the mega event at The Cotai Arena dubbed as 'The Clash in Cotai'.
Ik Yang (13-0, 8 KOs) remained undefeated and outlasted a game Hero Tito of Indonesia (7-3, 3 KOs) in their six round lightweight contest.
Yang won via Majority Decision over Tito with two successful marks of 60-54 and 59- 55. One judge has it even at 57 a piece.
Kuok Kun Ng of Macao, China grabbed the second win of his young career with a UD win over You-Jie Zeng (4-5, 4 KOs) of Bangkok, Thailand.
Ng dominated all 4 rounds of his super welterweight match against Zeng with a perfect score of 40-36. The hometown fighter made easy work of the shorter and older opponent whom he frustrated in the entire fight with great boxing and effective movement.
Rex Tso of nearby Hong Kong scored an early stoppage of Susu Sithjadeang (7-4, 2 KOs) in the 4th bout.
Tso decked the Thai fighter early in the first minute of the fight and it was easy work for him from then on.
A series of unanswered blows prompted referee Geno Rodriguez to call a halt to the fight at the 2:29 mark of the 1st round of a scheduled 6 round bantamweight contest.
Tso improved to 8-0 and remained unbeaten in his young career.
