Macao, China -- Filipino-American Jessica Sanchez of the famed American Idol show landed in Macao, China today where she will be singing the Philippine National Anthem this Sunday during Filiipino superstar Manny Pacquiao and Mexican-American Brandon Rios. Sanchez, who made the trip here from California in the United States is upbeat and excited about her big role in the biggest sporting event in this side of the planet. "I am excited. It is my first time singing the Philippine National anthem so I am very excited and I have been practicing the traditional way and I really think that I am going to do a very good job," Sanchez told this Philboxing.com correspondent. Besides the Philippine National Anthem, the 18 year old singer who traces her Filipino roots through her mom who was from Samal, Bataan, will also be performing the Star-Spangled Banner, the national anthem of the United States. Pacquiao is Filipino while Rios, a Mexican-American, hails from Oxnard, also in California. Sanchez also has Mexican blood coursing through her veins, her father is a Mexican-American from Texas. "I am singing both this time. So it's going to be like, it's going to be a lot for me to do, because a lot of people messed up on the American national anthem and I have never done this one and people are like, you've got to sing it traditional," Sanchez expressed with a giggle. She admitted that singing both anthems is adding to the pressure of being a part of a huge event such as this but she has been rehearsing for Sunday morning's sporting extravaganza at The Cotai Arena in the Venetian Resort Hotel here in Macao. "It is a lot on my back but I think I am prepared," admitted Sanchez who performed the American National Anthem in a Pacquiao fight in 2012 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Sanchez dedicates her performance to her fans in the Philippines and those that are affected by the recent super storm Haiyan. "This is for all of my supporters, especially for the Filipinos now in this time, because of everything that happened. I am doing this for the Filipinos, my kababayans."
