NBA -- Heat fall to Nets, lose two in a row

Paul Pierce and Joe Johnson scored 19 points each as the Brooklyn Nets edged the Miami Heat 101-100 and snapped a 13-game losing streak against the two-time defending champions Friday night at the Barclays Center..
The setback marked the first-back-to-back Heat loss in 10 months, dropping Miami's regular season record to 1-2.
Dwyane Wade scored 21 points after missing Wednesday's game against Philadelphia while LeBron James led Miami with 26 points, his 21st straight 20-point game, a streak surpassed only by Michael Jordan's 39.
Both Pierce and Johnson hit two free throws in the final seconds to ice the Nets victory following a Heat surge where a James 3 pushed Miami to within 99-98 with 4.7 seconds to go.
The Nets enjoyed a 78-67 lead after three quarters. The Nets bounced back from their loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the season opener without rookie coach Jason Kidd who was suspended for two games for drunken driving.
It was sweet revenge for the Nets who were swept by Miami in three games last season by an average of 21 points.
