Concepcion better be ready to get knocked out, says Banal
PhilBoxing.com Fri, 25 Oct 2013

This Saturday, Waterfront Hotel and Casino in Cebu City will host the highly-anticipated boxing showdown, Pinoy Pride XXII, highlighting world title fights between Genesis Servania (22-0, 8 KOs) and Rafael Concepcion (18-6-1, 8 KOs), as well as Arthur Villanueva (23-0, 13 KOs) and Mexico's Edgar Martinez (16-7, 4 KOs).
The event has been aptly dubbed ?The Revenge? since Servania's Panamanian opponent, Rafael ?El Torito? Concepcion, is the same pugilist that robbed his stablemate, AJ ?Bazooka? Banal, of the WBA Super Flyweight Interim Title at the Cebu City Coliseum in July 2008. Despite the overwhelming confidence in favor of Banal from the first few rounds, Concepcion landed a massive right to Banal's head for an unexpected KO in the 10th round. The loss was a shocking disappointment to Banal and the thousands of fans watching the event.
?Concepcion was lucky. I was 18-- immature, undefeated, and hot-headed. I didn't know how to take my time. I've learned how to pace myself since then,? Banal says about his defeat.
When asked about how he feels about the Servania/Concepcion match-up, he says:
?Servania's definitely going to win. Concepcion better get his bed ready because Servania is going to put him to sleep during that match.?
Only a few more days until we find out if Genesis ?Azukal? Servania can avenge Banal and rewrite history and win back Pinoy Pride.
