NBA -- Warriors, Bogut talk extension
By Joan Secuya-Medida PhilBoxing.com Fri, 18 Oct 2013

SAN FRANCISCO -- The Golden State Warriors and their center Andrew Bogut have began contract extension talks, NBA.com's Scott Howard-Cooper reports.
The 28-year old Bogut is in the final year of his contract that will pay the hefty Australian center $13.1 million for the 2013-14 season. Bogut has openly expressed the desire to stay in the Bay Area and run with the Western Conference powerhouse led by hot-shooting Stephen Curry and streak-shooter Klay Thompson.
The Warriors want him, too, but they are guarded in their optimism because of Bogut's history of injuries. The 7-foot-, 260-pound Bogut has missed 104 games in the past two seasons alone. When healthy, though, the No.1 overall pick in the 2005 NBA draft is one of the league's capable centers.
"Just based on the fact that my last two injuries I can't control. If there were chronic injuries from the lack of conditioning or not working out in the summer or being a fat slob, I can't understand the caution.
But would I do things to the extent that Andrew Bynum has done with his contract? Hell, no. The clauses that he has, there's no chance I would sign a contract. But basically having game incentives -- whatever the number is 60, 70 whatever it is -- I have no problem..I think that's only fair.
Stay tuned. (JSM)
