Talks of "spies" force Team Pacquiao to hold training camp behind closed doors By Rich Mazon PhilBoxing.com Fri, 11 Oct 2013 When Freddie Roach arrived Thursday in General Santos City to train his most successful pupil, Manny Pacquiao, the renowned trainer together with key members the boxer?s team immediately laid rules for their camp. Team Pacquiao sealed the doors of the boxer?s Wild Card Gym and limited visitors, onlookers and various members of the media in observing Pacquiao?s sparring and training under Roach. A source informed Philboxing.com that it was very hard to get into the gym Thursday afternoon, compared to the days when Roach was not yet in the country. And one reason for it was the possibility that someone who is watching Pacquiao train is feeding information, photographs and videos of the boxer?s training and strategies to the opposing team. ?Meron talaga, hindi maiwasan.? (Definitely there is, that cannot be avoided.) said another source, a key member of Team Pacquiao whom this writer reached out to, regarding the subject. As a result, several persons were not allowed entry in Thursday?s session and possibly in future dates of Pacquiao?s sparring, this included some members of the press. ?Iyon ang sabi ni Freddie, para concentrate si Manny sa ensayo.? (That is what Freddie said so that Manny can concentrate on his training.) stated the source. Asked if they found out whom the spy or spies were, the source replied, ?Hindi pa.? (Not yet.) Pacquiao has been training for weeks, both in General Santos and in Manila, ahead of his November 24 clash with Brandon Rios in Macao, China. Roach arrived Thursday in the Philippines and proceeded straight to General Santos City. It was his first meeting with Pacquiao after their promo tour some two months ago.
