Pacquiao believes fights with Mayweather and Marquez can still happen By Rich Mazon PhilBoxing.com Fri, 04 Oct 2013 Manny Pacquiao may have his hands full when he?ll face tough Mexican-American welterweight Brandon Rios on November 24th (23rd in North America), but the Filipino boxing star is not entirely shutting down his options when it comes to two of his biggest rivals in the sports. In a published article Thursday by Virgi T. Romano in Abante, the largest circulated tabloid in the Philippines, Pacquiao expressed that a dream fight with American, Floyd Mayweather Jr. and a fifth showdown with Mexican adversary, Juan Manuel Marquez is still feasible. ?Hangga?t hindi pa ako nagre-retire, at hindi pa rin sila nag-retire, may posibilidad pa na maglaban kami,? Pacquiao told Romano and other journalists last Tuesday. (As long as I have not retired and they have not also retired, there is a possibility that that we can all fight.) Pacquiao, who suffered a devastating knockout in his last fight against Marquez last year, believes that a fifth fight with the Mexican star is not entirely dead despite Marquez?s statements that he is done fighting the Filipino superstar. Both figured in four exciting and debatable fights in a span of eight years. ?Puwedeng magkaroon ng Part 5, hindi pa naman ako mag-retire, siya lumalaban pa rin, so, pwede pa,? Pacquiao said. (There can be a Part 5, I have not retired yet, and he is still fighting, so, it still can happen.) In the same article, the fighter and congressman from Sarangani Province in the Philippines also mentioned the name of Floyd Mayweather Jr. who is fresh from his convincing victory last month to keep his undefeated record intact. Pacquiao and Mayweather Jr.?s names have been inseparable since 2009, when the two top fighters at that time seemed destined to meet in the ring, in what is a called a dream match in boxing. That never happened owing to disagreements between the two camps. ?Sa boksing naman lahat posible, habang aktibo pa ang boxer, kahit sino puwedeng labanan, si Floyd, aktibo pa, ako rin naman wala pang plano mag-retire, kaya abangan na lang natin,? Pacquiao was quoted. (In boxing, everything is possible. As long as a boxer is still active, he can fight anybody. Floyd is still active, and I have no plans to retire yet, so let us just wait what happens next.) Pacquiao is currently in training and sparring preparations for his fight with Rios next month in Macau, China, his first out of America in more than seven years.
