PACQUIAO?S SPARRING SCHEDULE HITS A SNAG

PhilBoxing.com

MANILA(PNA)- Manny Pacquiao?s preparation for his coming fight against Brandon Rios had a minor delay when his scheduled sparring session yesterday was cancelled due to the non-arrival of World Boxing Organization Orient-Pacific welterweight champion Min Wook-Kim.

Min was supposed to fly in Wednesday night to spar with the eight-division world champion starting yesterday at the Pacman Wild Card Gym in General Santos City where Pacquiao had pitched camp.

Filipino former two-division titlist Gerry Penalosa, who had been talking to the Min?s camp, told People?s Journal the boxer had abandoned his manager after a misunderstanding before his scheduled departure for Manila, but everything was still being arranged so he could still come.

?Tumawag sa akin kagabi at sinabing hindi daw natuloy pagpunta dito, kaya tinawag ko agad si Manny to inform him of the unexpected development,? Penalosa explained.

To make up for the delayed in the sparring aspect of preparation, Penalosa said he has directed his brother Jonathan, a boxing trainer, to seek for a temporary spar mate in order that Pacquiao can proceed with sparring no later on Tuesday next week.

Gerry said.

Nonoy Neri, one of Pacquiao?s assistanst trainers overseeing his preparations at the Wild Card camp since September 17, said though that Manny is bringing along local welterweight Marlo Alta to temporarily sub for Tuesday?s scheduled sparring at the MP Tower Gym in Sampaloc, Manila.

Neri said.

Neri said.

Neri said Pacquiao, likewise, started his conditioning segment of training by doing the plyometric exercises in the afternoon session besides doing the mitts with Fernandez and visiting the heavy bags, double end ball, speed ball, skipping rope and shadow boxing
