LUCENA CITY HOSTS FIRST PRO BOXING EVENT THIS FRIDAY By Rich Mazon PhilBoxing.com Wed, 28 Aug 2013 Joven Sports Promotion and SBS Boxing Promotion in association with GMA Channel 7 will present a night of action in the ring in Lucena City?s first professional boxing show. Dubbed as, ?BIGWAS AT LAKAS NG QUEZON?, the nine-bout card will be held at the Lucena City Convention Center in the City of Lucena in Quezon. It will feature promising young prospect, Jerwin ?Pretty Boy? Ancajas of Davao del Norte squaring off against Leyte?s Armando Casa in the main event in a scheduled 10 round 116 pound contest. The young Ancajas, 21, was once the Asia Pacific Youth super flyweight titlist of the WBO and is riding on a 3 fight knockout streak, the last one as a visiting pug against China?s Xu Runlong. The event is a brainchild of boxing promoters, Joven Jimenez and Joel Ostria with the cooperation of various boxing promoters in the country who are pitting their respective fighters against each other. The event was originally scheduled last August 24thbut was moved due to rains brought about by Typhoon ?Maring? which also affected the region. ?Inaaayayahan ko sila manood sa laban lalo na sa mga tiga Lucena. Magandang laban ito at masasaksihan nila ang mga bagong prospect na mga boxers natin.? said Jimenez who hopes that people from Lucena and nearby towns will come to witness what could be the first of many professional boxing show in the city.
