EX HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION LARRY HOLMES HOSPITALIZED FOR TWO DAYS

Former heavyweight boxing champion Larry Holmes is back in his home after being hospitalized for two days with high blood sugar.
The Huffington Post reported that Holmes was admitted to St. Luke?s Hospital in Bethlehem Township, Pa., and returned to his because the 63 year old said ?My blood sugar popped up on me.?
Holmes was quoted as saying ?I?m all right now. I feel good. I never had anything like this happen before, but it runs in my family.?
The Post quoted Holmes who said he didn?t feel well Monday night and continued to feel lightheaded and drowsy Tuesday morning. A visit to the doctor led the doctor to send him to the hospital.
Holmes, who grew up in Easton and was known as ?The Easton Assassin? won the WBC heavyweight title with a fifteen round split decision over Ken Norton on June 9, 1978 and lost the title in what Ring Magazine described as the ?Upset of the Year? when he was beaten by light heavyweight champion Michael Spinks by a fifteen round unanimous decision on September 21, 1985.
Holmes gave Muhammad Ali a bad beating when Ali tried to make a comeback and was forced to retire in the 10th round on October 2, 1980.
Holmes said he?s taking medication and following doctors? instructions adding ?I have to lose some weight and eat the right foods. I?ll take my medication and watch my sugar level and I?ll be good.?
