WILL FUENTES VS SABILLO FIGHT HAPPEN?
By Mike Angel Lopez PhilBoxing.com Mon, 11 Mar 2013

Will the Philippines be the site of another big boxing event between WBO Minimumweight World Champion Moises Fuentes against newly crowned WBO INTERIM Mimimumweight World Champion Merlito Sabillo?
Filipino fans witnessed the tough kid Fuentes from Mexico took it to WBO World Lightweight Champion Donnie Nietes this past March 2 at the Waterfront Hotel and Casino at the latest Pinoy Pride XVIII event. The tough battle was declared a draw and many local boxing aficionados believed Fuentes was the winner. Team Fuentes came into the Philippines to take the title from Nietes and the fans witnessed world class boxing from Fuentes and his topnotch team.
The past Pinoy Pride events showed some Mexicans that were class C fighters with bloated wins and being overmatched, but they always come to fight like warriors they are, just being overwhelmed by the 42 hour plane ride from Mexico and arrive 4 days before the official weigh.
The 105 WBO World Champion Fuentes said he made $60,000 from the Nietes fight, the same amount he made when he fought Ivan Calderon in Puerto Rico. If the fight with Sabillo does happen, Fuentes is bound to make bigger demands and rightfully so since he is the official world champion.
