REVENGE ANGLE IN SERVANIA-ANGKOTTA FIGHT

PhilBoxing.com

CEBU CITY - Indonesian boxer Angky "Time Bomb" Angkotta has quite the reputation here in the Philippines. He remains the only boxer who has beaten WBO light flyweight world champion Donnie 'Ahas' Nietes. Angkotta beat Nietes by ten round split decision in 2004.

Angkotta (26W-8L-1D, 14 KO?s) also defeated Joma Gamboa and Sonny Boy Jaro, who have held world titles and he knocked out Rocky Fuentes in one round way back in 2005. Angkotta has beaten a total of ten Filipino boxers and only AJ Banal managed to beat him by unanimous decision in 2006 in Mandaue City. The 31 year old Indonesian has also lost to great Mexican fighters like Jorge Arce and Fernando Montiel.

Angkotta is back in Cebu accompanied by trainer Sonny Luther Rambing and manager Ana Kadarningsih during the press conference held Wednesday at the FORMO Restaurant and Lounge, Banilad Town Center. Also present was Rachamongkol Sor Pleonchit of Thailand with his Japanese manager Kazuto Harada. Pleonchit will be the opponent of Jimrex ?The Executioner? Jaca.

?Jorge Arce is the hardest puncher that I have faced? Angkotta said as a response to the query about his past opponents.

?Servania is a strong boxer,? Angkotta said, ?I will not predict a knockout win but I will predict that I will not be knocked out. This fight is very important for me. I would like to thank ALA Promotions for another opportunity to fight here.?

Angkotta said that he sparred a total of 200 rounds for this fight and was sparring ten rounds a day. When asked if he had had any advice for Moises Fuentes, Angkotta said that Fuentes is a good boxer and the key to beat Nietes is to fight without any emotion.

It will be Genesis 'Azukal' Servania's turn to step up to the plate this Saturday. The unbeaten Servania (19W-0L, 6 KO?s) will have vengeance on his mind when he defends his WBO Asia-Pacific super bantamweight title on the undercard of Pinoy Pride 18.

PLEONCHIT VS JACA
Just like Jaca, Pleonchit is a southpaw. He stated that he will not have any problems with regards to the stance of his opponent. Sor Pleonchit (13W-4L, 5 KO?s) is a former WBC international featherweight titlist and a veteran Muay Thai kick boxer.

Harada describes his fighter as having the ?traditional Thai style, has a strong punch. He does not run. If he hits you, he?ll knock you out.?

Jaca (36W-6L-3D, 20 KO's) needs an impressive win so that he will be lined up for bigger fights and a crack at a regional title.

PINOY PRIDE 18: WORLD CHAMPION VS WORLD CHAMPION, Nietes vs Fuentes, will be held on March 2 at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel in Lahug. Nietes won the WBO minimumweight championship here in Cebu and fought his first defense at the Waterfront. Nietes would go on to defend his 105 lb division title thrice in Mexico before moving up to 108 lbs and dethrone another Mexican, Ramon Garcia Hirales.
