Heavyweight Joey Dawejko is ready for Friday night showdown in Montreal PhilBoxing.com Fri, 08 Feb 2013 Dawejko. February 7, 2013 - Heavyweight attraction Joey Dawejko (7-1-2, 3 KOs) will be in action this Friday, February 8th, against undefeated heavyweight Didier Bence (6-0, 2 KOs) of Laval, Quebec, Canada. The Philadelphian native, Dawejko will have to go into hostile territory for this fight which takes place at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, Bence's backyard. Dawejko is a rare combination of speed and power in the heavyweight division and although he is considered smaller in the era of over-sized heavyweights, Dawejko maintains the kind of tactical approach in the ring that best utilizes his swift and allusive footwork. However, his agility isn't the only facet of his game that fans find exciting, his manner of fighting appeals to live audiences and will certainly translate from his Phillidelphia background to the ring in Montreal. "I want to give fans something different, I want to outperform the expectations of my critics and my fans," Dawejko said. "This is my first time fighting in a foreign market, Canada might not be rooting for me when the bell rings, but they'll respect me when my hand is raised." Dawejko is being matched tough once again as he steps into the ring with yet another undefeated fighter, making it his 3rd in a row. But Dawejko wouldn't have it any other way and he feels that these tough matchups provide him with the opportunity to advance his career. "I don't think you can really say that any one man can prepare you for what will come or what might come, but as long as I pass each obstacle with my head on my shoulders then I'm rewarded with the knowledge to move further. I feel with a strong performance I could be in a great position to step up in my next fight, but I'm not looking past anyone." Mario Yagobi of Boxing 360 Promotions is excited for the exposure Dawejko's brand of fighting will receive and the fans that will get their first chance to see him perform. "He's a unique physical specimen and he has a repeatable personality, fans love him. Dawejko is an easy going guy and it's hard to take someone like that out of his comfort zone. I have a feeling Dawejko will be leaving with a lot more Canadian fans, but I think he'd have that effect just about anywhere," Yagobi said.
