TEAM SINGWANGCHA SWEEP BOUTS IN ?FIGHTERS OF THE FUTURE?

PhilBoxing.com

MANDAUE CITY - Philippine super flyweight champion Marco Demecillo Singwangcha and Jessie Tuyor traded hard hooks from the opening bell. Demecillo stepped up his body assault in the second round but one of Tuyor?s punches managed to open a cut on Demecillo?s right eyebrow.

Marco responded like a wounded animal and came out snarling in the third. With the crowd cheering their every blow, Demecillo pounded Tuyor?s midsection and two hard hooks to the ribs sent Tuyor crashing to the canvas. Referee Tony Pesons signalled the end at 2:13.

Demecillo, who fights out of the RWS Gym of Cebu, was given additional cash incentives by his sponsor Thai boxing patron and promoter Naris Singwangcha.

Demecillo?s title was not at stake for this bout. He keeps his unbeaten run at 18W-0L-1D, 14 KO?s. Tuyor suffered his eighth loss in sixteen bouts.

In the co-main feature, Gerpaul Valero scored his twelfth straight win using a right uppercut to the body in the second round against Ronnie Sunido. Referee Teddy Alivio halted the bout as Sunido?s cornerman entered the ring to save his boxer from further punishment. Time 2;59.

Gerpaul Valero

Valero now has reached .500 in his record under trainer Brix Flores. He had a 1 win - 13 loss - 3 draw record with a 8 successive losses and was already thinking about quitting the sport before he trained under the Flores Boxing Gym for the GMA - 7 boxing tournament and reality show ?Buhay Boksingero?.

Valero won the superflyweight category and was already on an unlikely eleven fight winning streak going into this fight with Sunido. Valero is now 13W (8 KO's) - 13L?3D. It would be interesting to see if his career will have another fairy tale chapter.

For the other undercard bouts:

Ardie Boyosi overpowered Dondon Narvaez and knocked him out at 1:27 of the second round.

Jayson Redondo Singwangcha knocked Jomar Ministerio with a brutal body shot in the second round. Referee Ben Necesario reached the ten count at 2:59.

Sesustener Llanera Singwangcha decked Jesson Inso with a right uppercut to the jaw in the fifth round. Referee Teddy Alivio signalled the end at 1:09.

Neil John Tabanao Singwangcha dropped Jerome Baja with a quick one-two combo in the opening round. Baja got up but became the recipient of hard body shots and he decided not to come of his corner in the second round.

Joey Canoy Singwangcha had a successful pro debut against Gary Rojo. The southpaw Canoy dropped Rojo with a right hook in the second. Canoy was busier and more accurate with his punches and won by scores of 40-35, 40-34 and 40-35.

In the evening?s opening bout, Belmar Plaza and Richard Rosales both swung for the fences from the opening bell but had to settle for a split draw. The scorecards read 57-57, 58-56 Rosales, 58-56 Plaza.

?Fighters of the Future? was promoted by Rex?Wakee? Salud and Naris Singwangcha and was held Sunday at the Mandaue City Cultural and Sports Complex.
